Femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) has become a well-recognized clinical concept and is believed to increase the risk for early-onset osteoarthritis in some patients. It can be classified:
- cam type: the loss of sphericity of femoral head
- pincer type: focal or global acetabular over-coverage, as seen in this case
- mixed: combination of cam and pincer
