Severe chest pain.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female

CT pulmonary angiography

Filling defects are seen in the pulmonary arteries extending to lobar and segmental branches

Features of pulmonary hypertension and right heart strain 

Several subpleural ground glass opacities are seen bilaterally within lung parenchyma - in favor of lung infarction 

Case Discussion

The features are consistent with bilateral acute pulmonary thromboembolism.
