Patient with IRC on dialysis who comes to the hospital for abdominal pain and suspected kidney cysts.
Patient Data
CT with and without contrast showing saccular aneurysmal dilatations in projection of both renal arteries. They also hace vascular calcification.
Case Discussion
A renal aneurysm is a rare vascular affection that appears in less than 1.3 % of the population. The incidence is higher in hypertensive patients. The mean age of presentation is between 40 and 60 years old, and females.
They are presented as bilateral pathology in 20% of cases and aneurysms multiple by 30%.
The CT demonstrates a mass lesion that has contrast-filled outpouching in the renal artery.
There are three types of aneurysms: saccular, fusiform and intralobar. The main differences between them are the characteristics and morphology. They also have different treatments.
