A known patient with a seizure disorder had a generalized tonic-clonic seizure and was unable to walk after the seizure event.

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Male

Complete displaced bilateral intracapsular fractures of the femoral neck.

Case Discussion

A simultaneous bilateral femoral neck fracture is a rare entity that is usually associated with metabolic bone disease, epileptic attack, and high-energy trauma. Osteomalacia, electrical shocks, and renal osteodystrophy are also known causes.

In this case, the cause of the fracture was due to epileptic attack.
