Bilateral subdural haematoma with hemorrhagic level (hématome sous-dural bilatéral avec niveau hémorragique)

Case contributed by Dr Rahmoun Fateh

Presentation

87 years-old man with progressive loss of consciousness (Homme de 87 ans presentant une alteration progressive de l'état de conscience)

Patient Data

Age: 90
Gender: Male

CT-scan shows bilateral fronto-parietal extra-axial crescentic collections with haemorrhagic level, compatible with acute subdural haematoma (possibly within a chronic haemotoma). There is mass effect with obliteration of the ventricular system, which is more significant on the right lateral ventricule. Since the mass effect is bilateral, there is no significant midline shift.
