Bilateral synchronous pituitary microadenomas

Elevated prolactin level.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Female

Two small non enhancing lesions against the enhanced gland. No focal contour bulge or chiasm compression. The stalk is central. contrast-enhanced sagittal images from right to left demonstrate two adenomas with interposed normal pituitary tissue and the infundibulum. Dynamic study of the gland imaged o to 3 minutes after IV contrast reveals persistent non enhancing small masses at both sides of the gland. 

Case Discussion

Multiple pituitary microadenomas are very rare clinical findings that usually suspected in a patient with persistent endocrinal disturbances after sellar surgery.
