From the case:
Bilateral temporal bone fractures

Right ear shows a longitudinal fracture line crossing the mastoid cavity and bony labyrinth involving the following structures:
- incudo-malleolar subluxation
- posterior subluxation of the stapes relative to the oval window niche
- crossing of the vestibule and the apex of the internal auditory canal
- dehiscent tympanic segment of the facial nerve canal lying in front of the oval window niche
- fracture line is also crossing the round window niche
Left ear shows a longitudinal fracture line crossing the mastoid cavity, root of external auditory canal, the vestibule and apex of the internal auditory canal:
- the tympanic segment of the facial canal is dehiscent, lying in the oval window niche
- intra-cochlear ossification involving the apical cochlear turns (incidental note)
