Head injury following a fall. Incidental finding.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Female

Incidental symmetrical thinning of both parietal bones.

Right maxillary sinus fracture. Symmetrical thinning of the parietal bones (with only the inner table remaining).  Note the abrupt transition to relatively normal vault thickness.

Case Discussion

Biparietal thinness or osteodystrophy. Thought its exact etiology remains obscure, it likely reflects an age-related benig process.
