No fracture. Incidental bifid (bipartite) apophysis of the proximal fifth metatarsal bone.
Case Discussion
Irregular ossification of the 5th metatarsal bone apophysis is common. The 5th metatarsal apophysis also may be bifid (bipartite). The apophysis of the base of the 5th metatarsal bone and its variants should not be confused with fracture.
