Cardiac pacemaker generator projects over the left chest. Right atrial, right ventricular and epicardial left ventricular leads. Antenna noted. No complication.
Case Discussion
Cardiac pacemaker insertion is a common procedure with post-insertion chest x-rays performed to check lead position and assess for complications (e.g. pneumothorax). This particular biventricular model (Medtronic Serena), like many others, has an antenna allowing for wireless (Bluetooth) data transmission. It should not be mistaken for a disconnected or fractured wire.
