Presentation
Paraplegic, long-term suprapubic catheter.
Patient Data
Patient scanned prone and then partially rolled obliquely.
Mild bilateral hydronephrosis.
Numerous mobile bladder calculi with further urethral calculi. No obvious bladder mass. Suprapubic catheter.
Right lower quadrant stoma with parastomal hernia. Gastric lap band. Dilated visualized esophagus Spinal nerve stimulator. No intraperitoneal free fluid or free gas. Subcutaneous gluteal calcifications.
Case Discussion
Spinal cord injuries can result in a neurogenic bladder, in this case requiring suprapubic catheterization bladder calculi are a frequent complication, and can lead to catheter blockage. Most of the bladder calculi are shown to be mobile between the prone and oblique patient positions but some are lodged in the urethra.
