Bladder calculus

Case contributed by Henry Knipe
Diagnosis certain

Presentation

Hematuria.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Male
ultrasound

Echogenic shadowing mobile mass within the bladder compatible with a calculus.

Case Discussion

The patient also had LUTS with ultrasound also demonstrating prostatomegaly and post void residual >100 mL (not shown) - presumably chronic bladder outlet obstruction has led to the bladder calculus formation and subsequent mucosal irritation leading to hematuria.
