Bladder cancer in a diverticulum

Within a large right posterior bladder diverticulum, there is a round mucosally-based lesion in keeping with a TCC. The posterior wall of the lesion abuts the external iliac vessels with loss of the intervening fat plane (Image 32).
The right ureter is not obstructed. No other lesion is seen in the upper tracts. The prostate is enlarged.
No lymphadenopahthy.
Case Discussion
TCC can arise from any urothelium and the bladder is the most common site in the urinary system. There is a known association with diverticuli and increased risk of TCC.
