Presentation
History of kidney stones complicated by urinary infections in the last 2 years. Double J catheter ("pig-tail") placed/removed three times during the period.
Patient Data

Months after the double J catheter was first placed, stones were observed at the proximal and distal ends. The catheter and attached stones were removed at that time. Stones are observed in the left kidney.

12 months after removal of the first double J catheter. Calculi are still observed in the left kidney, with no evidence of stones in the bladder.

After 18 months, a new double J catheter was placed in the left kidney. On a control examination, a radiopaque structure with multiple layers and a cylindrical shape in the centre was identified, compatible with a stone formed around a residual piece of catheter, which had been placed/removed in another hospital 4 months before.

Case Discussion
Patient with nephrolithiasis complicated by recurrent urinary infection in the last 2 years, and due to the condition, required a double J catheter on three occasions. During radiological control after placement of the last catheter, a radiopaque structure was observed in the bladder, with a central cylindrical shape, compatible with bladder stone formed around the residual portion of one of the catheters.
