Blount disease (tibia vara)

Leg bowing and difficulty in walking.

Patient Data

Age: 4 years.
Gender: Female

Bilateral varus deformity (bowing). Medial spur from the tibial metaphysis evident on the right side

Disturbed defective growth of the medial proximal tibial epiphysis.Irregularities of the physis on both sides.

Case Discussion

Abnormal metaphyseal-diaphyseal angle (MDA) >11° on both sides are seen. The overall findings are suggestive of Blount disease.
