Presentation

Hit by a tree.

Patient Data

Gender: Male

Lower left rib fractures with small hemothorax. 

Small splenic lacerations with probably small pseudoaneurysm and surrounding blood. 

Complex renal cortical injuries with perinephric blood and multiple areas of active extravasation. No definite renal artery injury. 

Small amount of hemoperitoneum. 

Right internal oblique, bilateral Iliopsoas/iliacus, and paraspinal injury with active extravasation.

Left transverse process fractures, traumatic subluxation with jumped facets of L5 on S1. 

Delays: No urine leak. Foci of active extravasation on the portal venous phase have disbursed.

Severe blunt abdominal trauma after being hit by a tree. This case highlights musculoskeletal injuries, an uncommon injury of traumatic subluxation of L5 on S1 with jumped facets, and active extravasation.
