The CT images demonstrate a herniation of the retroperitoneal fat through a focal posterolateral defect of the right hemidiaphragm. No other abnormality detected.
Case Discussion
CT features of a Bochdalek hernia (incidental finding).
In adults, Bochdalek hernia is rare, usually incidentally-discovered during an abdominal CT. Right-sided location is more common and more frequent in females (as in this case).
