Serpiginous sclerotic medullary bone lesions are found around both knees.
Case Discussion
Typical radiographic features of bone infarctions are; medullary lesions, serpiginous borders, most common in metaphyses and often symmetrical (multiple infarcts).
Other differential diagnosis for this appearance on x ray may include :
- enchondroma: chondroid matrix, central marrow signal is absent
- low grade chondrosarcoma
- healing benign lesions such as non-ossifying fibroma
