Gender: Male

Avulsion fracture of the posterior cruciate ligament insertion with marrow edema and cortical disruption. 

Case Discussion

Posterior cruciate ligament avulsion fractures can be classified as:

  • type I: no displacement
  • type II: mild displacement
  • type: III totally displaced

This case presents a posterior cruciate ligament avulsion fracture type III.
