Degenerative change is seen in multiple joints, with osteoarthritic characteristics, predominantly over the distal interphalangeal joint of the index finger, proximal interphalangeal joint of the middle finger and the lateral midcarpal joints.

The proximal interphalangeal joint of the fifth digit is flexed on all views, with slight hyperextension of the distal interphalangeal joint, in keeping with a boutonniere deformity and disruption of the extensor mechanism.
