Presentation

Fever for 3-4 days. Abdominal pain for 1 day. Increased for few hours.

Patient Data

Age: 15-20 years old
Gender: Female

Lab studies indicated...

ultrasound

Lab studies indicated typhoid fever

There is free fluid in pelvis and right iliac fossa with tiny mobile echoes within.

Left  lobe of liver in supine position: there is increased echogenicity of the peritoneal stripe with reflection artifact involving the peritoneal stripe, compatible with pneumoperitoneum. 

Case Discussion

Free intra-peritoneal air suggests perforation of hollow viscus.
