Acute abdominal pain.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male

An x-ray erect abdomen reveals crescentric gas under right diaphragm in keeping with a visceral perforation

An erect abdominal film is not typically performed in a query of bowel perforation - an erect chest radiograph and supine abdominal radiograph is the usual film selection.

Case Discussion

The presence of gas under the diagphram has a limited diffrential diagnosis.
