An oblique fracture of the neck of the 5th metacarpal is noted with palmar angulation of the distal fracture fragment. There is not intra-articular extension of the fracture.
This is a typical case of a boxer's fracture in a young male.
Boxer fractures are the most common type of metacarpal fracture.
