Abnormal shape of head since birth.

Patient Data

Age: 8 months
Gender: Male

Early closure of bilateral coronal sutures giving the appearance of brachycephaly.

Open metopic suture. ​Sagittal and bilateral lambdoid sutures are also open.

Case Discussion

Craniosynostosis refers to the premature closure of cranial sutures. Brachycephaly (literally, "short head") results from a bicoronal and/or bilambdoid craniosynostosis.
