Brachymetatarsia

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

11-year-old girl presents with small left 4th toe. There is no history of trauma or family history of a short 4th toe. The 4th toe was normal until the age of 5 years when it was noticeably shorter than the 5th toe.

Gender: Female
x-ray

The 4th metatarsal bone is short and there is early fusion of the distal epiphysis.

Case Discussion

This is in keeping with unilateral brachymetatarsia.
