- the left 4th metatarsal and phalanges are shortened
- normal bone density
- no significant soft tissue abnormality
Case Discussion
Congenital brachymetatarsia is rare, and usually involves the fourth ray. Although it mainly affects the metatarsal bone, the phalanges are generally hypoplastic as well, as seen in this example.
