Brain metastases from breast cancer

Presentation

Two weeks history of severe headaches in a patient treated for breast cancer.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Female

Numerous intra-axial enhancing lesions of various sizes, disseminated in both cerebellar and cerebral hemispheres with surrounding vasogenic edema mainly around the largest lesion with facilitated diffusion. No hemorrhagic component seen on the GRE sequence.

Case Discussion

MRI features of innumerable enhancing intra-axial lesions with surrounding vasogenic edema in a patient treated for breast carcinoma, most consistent with brain metastases.
