Abnormal signal intensity lesion (T2/FLAIR high and T1 low, without diffusion restriction or T2* GRE blooming artifact) centered in the pons extending midbrain, medulla and left middle cerebellar peduncle. The lesion demonstrates heterogeneous peripheral patchy enhancement.
No significant hydrocephalus is seen.
Brain stem gliomas presenting in the adult population are low-grade gliomas that typically occur in third and fourth decades of life as in this case.
