Brainstem glioma

There is diffuse expansion of the pons, with flattening of the floor of the fourth ventricle and effacement of the pre-pontine cistern, trapping the basilar artery between the pons and the clivus. The region demonstrates diffuse increase in T2 signal but no convincing abnormal enhancement. Findings are characteristic of a brainstem glioma.
Case Discussion
Although information on the histology and molecular characteristics of this tumor are not available, it is likely that it represents a diffuse midline glioma H3 K27M–mutant.
