There is an ill-defined hypodense mass enlarging the brainstem with a central area of a heterogeneous enhancement. A mass effect is noted on the 4th ventricle which is compressed and displaced posteriorly with effacement of the prepontine, cerebellopontine, and ambient cisterns. No significant dilatation of the supratentorial ventricular system.
Case Discussion
The CT appearances are most consistent with a high-grade brainstem glioma.
