A mass with an irregular margin and a few tiny calcifications is noted at the lower central portion of the left breast, causing adjacent skin retraction. A dominant lymph node is also observed in the left axillary region.
Case Discussion
Small irregular mass with fine internal calcification and adjacent skin retraction in diagnostic mammography of a 50 years old patient with a history of right partial mastectomy about 10 years ago and new palpable mass in the left breast; compatible with BIRADS 5 lesion and highly suggestive of malignancy.
The patient underwent an ultrasound-guided core needle biopsy, and a histopathology evaluation confirmed invasive ductal carcinoma.
