Breast mass (BI-RADS 5)

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Left breast palpable mass on physical exam.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Female
mammography

A hyperdense mass with irregular margins and spicules containing small foci of calcification is evident in the UOQ of the left breast, which has caused surrounding tissue distortion and relative retraction of the adjacent skin. At least two satellite lesions are noticeable in the vicinity of the mentioned mass. (BI-RADS 5)

In addition, several punctate calcification foci with a benign appearance are scattered in the left breasts. (BI-RADS 2)

Case Discussion

The patient underwent a US guided core needle biopsy and then a total mastectomy. The histopathology evaluation confirmed invasive ductal carcinoma
