Breast mass - BI-RADS 5

Presentation

Right breast palpable mass on physical exam.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Female
mammography

Hyperdense mass with irregular margin is present in the central medial portion of the right breast on CC and MLO views that contains internal microcalcifications inferring BI-RADS 5 lesion, highly suggestive for malignancy.

Case Discussion

The patient underwent ultrasound guided core needle biopsy and histopathologic findings confirmed an invasive ductal carcinoma which is the most common type of breast cancer.
