Presentation

Aphasia for 2 days.

Patient Data

Age: 65 year
Gender: Female
CT

Hypodensity involving the left posterior inferior frontal gyrus (Broca's area) extending to left insular cortex. No hemorrhagic transformation.

Case Discussion

This language eloquent area is most often located in the left cerebral hemisphere. Keeping with clinical presentation of acute aphasia this a typical case of Broca's aphasia.
