Case Discussion

Chest x-ray of a 40 year old woman demonstrates a founded well circumscribed lesion projecting though the cardiac silhouette.

MRI and CT confirm a hi T2 signal / fluid attenuation spherical lesion abutting the posterior aspect of the heart, located within the left lung base. 

Appearances most likely represent a bronchogenic cyst, with the alternative diagnosis being that of a pericardial cyst
