Pneumonectomy on the right.

Patient Data

Gender: Male
Modality: X-ray

Development of a right hydropneumothorax on the right. Note the partially removed 4th rib on the right as well as soft tissue surgical emphysema and oedema within the right chest wall. 

 

One day later

Modality: X-ray

Follow-up radiograph demonstrates a drop (caudal-migration) of the gas-fluid level with increasing air in pneumonectomy space.

Modality: CT

Selected images of CT Chest demonstrating a large pneumothorax on the right associated with evidences suggesting communication of the bronchial stump and the pleural space.
