Bronchopleural fistula - postoperative complication

History of pulmonary resection due to right upper lobe lung cancer (adenocarcinoma).

Patient Data

Age: 50 years old
Gender: Male

Post operative changes ( right upper lobectomy ) are seen at right hemithorax . CT shows a fistulous connection between pleural air collection and bronchial system.

Case Discussion

The findings are consistent with a bronchopleural fistula, a post-operative complication following pulmonary resection due to lung adenocarcinoma.
