Referred from other hospital with right tibia malignancy for work up

Patient Data

Age: 16 years
Gender: Female

1. Lytic lesion right tibia

2. Lytic lesion right tibia (2 weeks follow up)

3. Chest radiograph shows generalized osteopenia



Multiple lytic bone lesions including: 

  • 7th rib lytic lesion
  • Lytic lesions right humerus neck
  • Lytic lesions left iliac bone

The lesion in the tibia shows hyperenhancement post contrast.

Nuclear medicine

Multiple hot lesion on bone scan

Case Discussion

Hyperparathyroidism with multiple brown tumors.

Parathyroid hormone level is 42 pmol/L (normal range: 1.6 - 7.2)
