A longitudinal tear of the medial meniscus, the medial part of the ruptured meniscus displaced medially, into the intercondylar notch. The sagittal view demonstrates a double PCL sign. Mild joint effusion is also seen. ACL is intact.
Case Discussion
Bucket-handle meniscal tear is a serious type of meniscal tear. Symptoms are pain, effusion, and limited mobility. The medial meniscus is more often injured this way, and commonly the ACL is also ruptured, but in this case, it was intact. Arthroscopic meniscectomy was done.
