Bucket-handle tear and ACL tear

Presentation

Right knee trauma.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male

MRI shows chronic completed ACL tear. The bucket handle tear of the medial meniscus with the fragment in the intercondylar notch, double PCL sign.

Knee joint effusion.

Case Discussion

MR findings are consistent with the typical features of the bucket-handle medial meniscal tear with the fragment in notch sign and double PCL sign.

Bucket handle meniscal tears more commonly occur in the medial meniscus and are often associated with an anterior cruciate ligament tear.
