Budd-Chiari syndrome

Diagnosis probable

Presentation

Abdominal pain and distention.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Female
ct

Marked hepatomegaly is seen and the liver shows heterogeneous mottled enhancement with early enhancement of central liver. Hepatic veins and IVC are not identified . A 115×59 mm subcapsular fluid accumulation is seen medial to inferior portion of right liver lobe with heterogeneous content. 
Diffuse subcutaneous soft tissue edema is seen.

A 73×60mm well-defined mass is seen at right pelvis most likely consistent with myoma.

Case Discussion

Hepatomegaly with nutmeg appearance and inability to identify hepatic veins and upper portion of IVC; features are the most likely compatible with Budd-Chiari syndrome.
