Pain without history of trauma. Incidental finding.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male

MRI right shoulder   

Anterosuperior glenoid labrum absent in the 1-3 o'clock position with hypertrophy of the middle glenohumeral ligament.

The rotator cuff and the long head of the biceps are normal.

Case Discussion

The Buford complex is a variant in which the upper glenoid lip is absent in the 1-3 o'clock position, covered by a thickened, cord-like middle glenohumeral ligament (MGHL).
