Cecal carcinoma with local lymphadenopathy

Presentation

Altered bowel habits and right lower quadrant abdominal dull pain of insidious onset.

Patient Data

Age: 40
Gender: Male

Cecal fairly defined enhancing mass lesion is seen measuring about 7.5x6.6x6 cm in its maximum AP, transverse and craniocaudal dimensions respectively,  the lesion has no exophytic components and is intimately related to the inferior surface of the right hepatic lobe (superiorly), the right iliopsoas muscle (posteriorly) and the anterior abdominal wall (anterolaterally).

Annular wall thickening with preservation of wall layer in the ascending colon, hepatic flexure and proximal transverse colon.

Multiple enlarged pericolic and mesenteric lymph nodes are noted. 

Case Discussion

Findings are consistent with cecal neoplastic lesion with pericolic and mesenteric lymphadenopthy.

Biopsy is taken through colonscopy and revealed colonic adenocarcinoma.
