There is a bony coalition between the calcaneus and the navicular bones. No edema is found in the region of the coalition.

The calcaneonavicular and the talocalcaneal, are the two most commons types of tarsal coalitions.

A tarsal coalition is a union between two or more of the tarsal bones in the foot. The union can consist of bone, like in this case, or fibrous or cartilage tissues.
