Presentation

History of pain and swelling at the left ankle, foot, and calcaneus since 4 hours after he jumped from one-meter height, landed on his foot with a twisted ankle.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Male
x-ray
  • X-ray shows an inverted Y shape fracture at the left calcaneus bone (lateral view).
  • No clear displacement is seen.
  • The soft tissue is mildly swollen.

Case Discussion

  • No clear collapse is seen in this calcaneal fracture, the Bohler's angle appears within normal limits.
  • The normal Bohler's angle should be between 20° to 40°.
