There are multiple calcifications in front of the patella in the prepatellar bursa, correlating to calcific bursitis.
The prepatellar bursitis (laundress's knee) is the consequence of an inflammation of the prepatellar bursa and is caused by a prolonged kneeling position on hard surfaces.
The inflammation, if chronic, leads to the formation of calcium deposits.
