Calcific supraspinatus tendinitis

Presentation

Painful left shoulder, no history of direct injury, but intensive recreational sport (swimming).

Patient Data

Age: 55
Gender: Male

Calcific deposit in the supraspinatus, close to its humeral insertion.

Case Discussion

Typical presentation of calcifying supraspinatus tendinitis due to chronic strain.

Further evaluation with MRI would have been beneficial but the patient was lost to follow-up.
