Thickened proximal tendon of the left rectus femoris muscle with intrasubstance signal alteration and surrounding edema. These changes are mainly involving the direct head tendon and to a lesser degree the indirect head and proximal conjoined tendons (better seen on the sagittal plane). In addition, a calcific body (1.5x2cm) is seen closely related to the tendon.
Case Discussion
Here is a case with plain X-ray and MR findings suggestive of calcific tendinitis of the rectus femoris muscle.
