Presentation

Acute onset, the atraumatic origin of right anterior shoulder pain - 2 days.

Patient Data

Age: 50 yrs
Gender: Female
ultrasound

There is calcification in the pectoralis major tendon. There is surrounding soft tissue edema. The size of calcification is about 16 x 16 x 8 mm.  The pectoralis major tendon is intact

Rotator cuff tendons are normal.

Case Discussion

Findings of calcific tendinosis involving pectoralis major tendon. The leak of calcium in surrounding soft tissue results in local inflammation. It is the cause of acute anterior shoulder pain.
