Presentation

Imaging for symptoms of sinusitis.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Female

Dense nodular and linear calcifications in subcutaneous soft tissues of bilateral cheek.

Case Discussion

This was an incidental finding in a patient who had imaging for symptoms of sinusitis. On direct questioning, the patient confirmed having had previous procedure for cheek augmentation at a cosmetic clinic. Exact nature of the compound injected was not known to the patient or her GP, but silicone seems to be the likely material.
